Training For Work

GREAN aims, among other things, to create employment, especially for young people and others who need support to prepare them for work and training.

GREAN believes it has succeeded in creating a workplace that is both supportive and business-like. Success with new recruits is dependent on tailoring the approach to the individual, while remaining within a normal working environment.

GREAN has recently completed a training programme, supported by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Community Economic Development grants.  Although aimed primarily at school leavers, placements were also provided for more mature people seeking to re-enter employment.  Placements varied in length.

Training providers wishing to place clients should contact Fiona MacDonald, Manager, in the first instance, we usually have vacancies for Trainee placements and enquiries are welcome. Currently (May 2010) we are recruiting trainees for the new Textile training Project, 6 month contracts are being offered at minimum wage.
