ReCycle Project

The GREAN ReCycle project refurbishes bikes that would otherwise be scrapped and landfilled.  It has funding until September 2012.

We have a well-equipped workshop run by our bike mechanic, who has the assistance of a trainee.  Further trainees and volunteers will be taken on as time goes on, and anyone interested in learning about bikes should contact Fergus Morrison on 01408 634253.

The bike project also repairs bikes, with special rates for people on benefits.  Most bikes are brought in to the workshop, but GREAN recycling vehicles can pick up bikes on their routes.  Contact GREAN on 01408 634253 for more details.  The bike can only be uplifted on normal collection days and will be returned when repairs have been completed.

Refurbished bikes are available to buy for very reasonable prices at the GREAN premises on the Industrial Estate, Golspie.

GREAN ReCycle is funded by the Robertson Trust and the Increase III Programme.  The aim of the INCREASE III Programme is to help not-for-profit, community based organisations develop projects that will increase the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste in line with the move towards a Zero Waste Scotland.
