New boxes for Golspie hinterland

Opt out cards have now been delivered to all areas except Migdale, this will be done next Wednesday, 17th June.  Boxes have been delivered to Helmsdale hinterland, Embo hinterland and Golspie hinterland. Today Embo hinterland will receive the first uplft, and Helmsdale is fully underway. Plans for next week, beginning 15th June, include the first delivery of boxes to the Lairg hinterland, and the first collection from the Golspie hinterland. Over 1000 new households have received cards so far with a very high uptake. Details will be included on the next report.

New Service for Rural Areas

The first half of the Golspie hinterland was carded on 28th May, and boxes were delivered to the Helmsdale to Kintradwell area on 29th May. This area will receive service from 5th June onwards. We will continue the Strath Brora carding on Thursday 4th June. The first half of the Lairg area was carded on Wednesday 3rd June, and the remainder will be done next week 10th June. Meantime 200 households in the Embo hinterland will receive boxes on Friday 5th June and these will be uplifted for the first time on Friday 12th June.

Best Employer Award

Fergus Morrison, GREAN Manager, received an award on behalf of GREAN at the Highland Diversity Awards ceremony last week at the Drummossie Hotel Inverness,the award was for Best Employer in the Social Enterprise category.Presenting the award is Stewart Nicol, Chief Executive Inverness Chamber of Commerce. The award certificate says: ‘ nominations were made by members of support and provider agencies acting within Highland, to recognise examples of good practice witnessed by them. We are pleased to award this commendation as an expression of our appreciation for the contribution to employability made by your company.’
