How To Use Your Box and Bag

The service is weekly.   For collection days, please see the Collection Schedule page. All we ask is that you put out a well filled box and bag for collection on your collection day, by 9am. If you put out a full bag it will be replaced by a new empty bag for the next collection.

What we would like you to put in the box:

If you have plastic carrier bags, please put the following items in separate bags and place the bags in the box. This helps speed up separation by our collectors
  • All types of paper
  • Cardboard
  • Books
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Textiles, shoes and accessories.
  • Domestic cable
  • Mobile phones
  • CDs and DVDs

Your box cover keeps the contents dry and prevents it from blowing away.

What we would like you to put in the bag:

At each collection you will receive a large plastic bag.  Please put the following items in the bag, and tie the handles before collection. what_to_put_in_the_bag_440

Please rinse out all these before putting them in the bag.  Leave labels on, but PLEASE do not put anything else in the bag, especially glass bottles.  The bags are manually handled and sorted, so contaminated material and glass are a hazard to our workers.

Other items Bicycles and lawnmowers can be left next to your box, but please ensure they are clearly labelled for us to collect.  We don't want to pick up someone's much-loved bike by mistake!
